Nancy and her dedicated team collaborated with clinicians from Philadelphia and neighboring areas to serve the Kensington community

The White House's Office of National Drug Control Policy recently identified the combination of fentanyl and xylazine as a growing concern, prompting the release of a National Response Plan on July 11 2023, to combat this issue. In the span of a year, from 2020 to 2021, the use of xylazine saw a significant rise across all four US census regions, with the most notable increases in the south (193%) and the west (112%). Correspondingly, the number of overdose deaths where xylazine was present soared drastically, with increases of 1127% in the south, 750% in the west, over 500% in the midwest, and more than 100% in the northeast. The team took to the streets with a single mission: to provide quality wound care and impart essential education. Witnessing the unity of professionals coming together by passion for wound care was deeply moving.
